I now only search for "instant rebates" and steer clear of those mail in rebates unless of course I didn't care much about them. False denials and bureaucratic runarounds are what you can expect from any offer like this. Experience has taught me that the amount of time, effort, and postage required to finally convince one of these rebate servicing companies to pay on a rebate is worth MORE to me than the money I would save with the rebate.
