Those of us in the US have been waiting for this lens since it was first announced back in August.  It’s finally available for pre-order at Amazon for a $299 price of admission.

I picked one of these up from a friend in the UK. It’s a great little lens. The lack of a USM is a little annoying because it focuses a little slow and you can’t just grab the focus ring. But other than that it’s a great lens.
