Please explain the best settings for a action shot photos of a basketball game the manual does not go into no detail on this. I have taken some and they were all blury I used the ISO 1600 and ISO 3200 with the dial set on action and the FINE setting. Should I use RAW or RAW/JPEG could really use some help

I have only just started poking around the web. I have an older Powershot a200. I want to be able to clean my uploaded pictures, which the basic program doesn't allow me to do so. is there a download that I can get (or a cd) that will let me upgrade my program so I can do things like clean up old, spotty pictures (I've been reshooting older photos, taken long before computers and usb cords were even conceived) or take out "redeye", that sort of stuff? if so, what's the url?
thanks! I will continue to look for this, but can't hurt to ask here.

@Sony Alphah - I'm glad you like your new A200. I'm very impressed with Sony's offerings in their A200-A350 lineup. Sony is really going to bring some solid competition to the market over the next few years. I also share your affection toward the in-body anti-shake sensor.

I have had several digital cameras, and this is my first dslr. I love taking pictures with it, especially action shots. Super fast auto focus, choices of programs etc. are found on lots of dslr's. The reason I bought this one is that it accepts Minolta af lenses and the anti-shake technology is in the camera and not in the lens. This makes additional lenses much more affordable.

[...] out of the megapixel race, Sony has kept the A200 at the same 10.2 megapixels that the A100 had. (full review) Made up your mind to buy the Sony Alpha [...]

The Sony A200 looks like a very adequate replacement for the Sony A100. It is that there maybe two stops or so noise performance increase over the Sony A100, without a substantial loss of detail. Looks like the tweaks to the 10MP sensor have paid dividends.

I have some links to A200 sampkles and I also have a bunch of A100 and A700 shots up in my galleries if you want to take a look a some real world performance.

http://www.sonolta.com

I am just finishing a review of the Sony A700 and have many 100% crops go with hundreds of example pictures.

The Sony Alpha line is becoming very formidable, very quickly.

Happy Shooting!
