Sony Alpha α700 Available for Pre-Order

Amazon just put up their Sony α700 pages and the camera is now available for pre-order. Amazon has a first-come, first-served policy with pre-orders, so if you’re planning on getting one, you’d better get in line now.

Sony α700 w/ 16-105mm lens

Sony α700 (body only)

The α700 (body only) is initially showing out of stock with no pre-order option. Both kits show availability of December 15, 2007; however, Sony has already said the a700 body only and 18-70 kit would ship in October, while the 16-105 kit will ship in November. I imagine that Amazon is being rather conservative with availability dates as they were with the Canon 40D.
