Have some sense. It looks too retro of something else but a Nikon. Have ou guys not noticed that whether x,s, or h versions of their models took after precursors. Should look somethng like a D3. Well, to hype its inevitable release, this is good noise.

[...] UPDATED 6/8/07: Check out the awesome concept renditions of the Nikon D3x. Cnet has joined in the rumor mill, although I don’t really see anything new that we’ve not already reported here. Also, from the DPReview.com forums: From a very good inside source. I will not elaborate or name the source. [...]

The 3d modeling and rendering is terrific, but the design itself is ugly and don't look very functional.

The design has too proeminent edges. Too wide... The trigger wouldn't be better than a button.

The windows-like interface on the top lcd is very funny =) Wouldn't make a good option either.

Anyway, great modeling and rendering skills. Good to know that you are in the gaming industry.

Leave the cameras to the product designers ;)

egads! i hope this design came purely out of the imagination of the renderer - it's hideous! this would be a major step backwards in design...it looks like more like an F5 than a successor to the D2 series. and shutter triggers? riiiight...like *those* would be intact for more than a week on a pro's camera...lol...

the image at the top of http://www.photographybay.com/?p=33 looks much more like a step forward.

I'm not quite sure about all of this information as well as these concept pictures. Why would nikon make something that looks as outrageous and non-functional as the provided pictures. This camera is going to look and probably have the same body as the D2xs does, holy shit it has only been a year since that camera came out. These pictures look like someting that may be released in 20 years. Get a grip guys, and just wait for the real specs.

Nikon will announce the new D3X and other equipment on August 23, 2007, one or two days after Canon, who will present new camera(s) on this date. No closer information are available from Nikon at the moment.

Endlich soll es soweit sein: aus zuverlässiger Quelle habe ich erfahren, daß Nikon am 23. August 2007 das neue Profimodell (D3X?) endlich vorstellen will.
